A pair of traditionally styled Yunomi cups formed using the Kurinuki technique of carving and hollowing from a single block of clay.
All cups are hand made and have quirks in the texture and form that make them unique and adhere to the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi and the beauty of imperfection. No two cups will ever be exactly the same.
The type of cup was traditionally created for drinking tea but can be used for your drink of choice.
Higanbana is a plant of the amaryllis family (amaryllis is the glaze used on these cups) It is a flower of the Autumn Equinox and the Buddhist holiday of Ohigan, which is a time when we honour ancestors.
